The Foundation’s primary mission is to promote excellence in clinical care, in education and in research in the field of Thoracic Surgery as well as to recruit and retain academic Thoracic Surgeons who are leaders in their field.

Scientific mission

Thoracic surgery research can be divided into three separate categories: thoracic oncology, oesophageal diseases and lung transplantation

With the creation of endowed university chairs, the Foundation can offer researchers the necessary resources required to innovate and make scientific inroads and breakthroughs

The goal is the development of newer, more precise, more effective and less invasive surgical treatments with the help of new technologies
