Following the acquisition of two Ex Vivo lung perfusion devices in 2014, this program enables the CHUM to become the only hospital in Quebec where lung transplants are performed.
This is a pioneering acquisition in the field of lung transplantation, with extraordinary potential. In fact, the CHUM became the second facility in North America to adopt this cutting-edge technology. This program is unique in Quebec and enables the CHUM to become the only hospital in Quebec where lung transplants are performed. 2015 was a record year at the Notre Dame Hospital, with a total of 57 lung transplants performed.
