Cette soir\u00e9e prestigieuse a permis de mettre en lumi\u00e8re les avanc\u00e9es m\u00e9dicales r\u00e9alis\u00e9es tout en ouvrant la voie \u00e0 de nouvelles innovations scientifiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">L\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement, une fois de plus pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 guichets ferm\u00e9s, s\u2019est tenu sous la pr\u00e9sidence d\u2019honneur de M. Jacques Gu\u00e9nette, pr\u00e9sident de DLGL. \u00c0 cette occasion, M. Gu\u00e9nette a annonc\u00e9 un don exceptionnel de&nbsp;<strong>3 millions de dollars<\/strong>&nbsp;provenant de sa fondation familiale, la Fondation famille Gu\u00e9nette Diane in memoriam, cr\u00e9\u00e9e en hommage \u00e0 sa conjointe. Il s\u2019agit de la toute premi\u00e8re cause soutenue par la fondation, et cette contribution majeure servira \u00e0 l\u2019acquisition d\u2019un robot chirurgical de pointe, destin\u00e9 exclusivement au service de chirurgie thoracique du CHUM. \u00c9valu\u00e9 \u00e0 environ 5 millions de dollars, l\u2019\u00e9quipement n\u00e9cessitera un financement compl\u00e9mentaire, et une campagne sera prochainement lanc\u00e9e afin de recueillir les fonds restants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u00ab&nbsp;<em>Les maladies pulmonaires touchent des millions de Canadiens et repr\u00e9sentent l\u2019une des principales causes de d\u00e9c\u00e8s au pays. Gr\u00e2ce aux fonds recueillis, la Fondation peut continuer \u00e0 offrir un soutien essentiel aux patients et \u00e0 financer des recherches m\u00e9dicales de pointe<\/em>&nbsp;\u00bb, souligne Dr Pasquale Ferraro, pr\u00e9sident du Conseil d\u2019administration. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>\u00c0 propos de la Fondation pour la recherche en chirurgie thoracique de Montr\u00e9al&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Fond\u00e9e en 2004 par Dr Andr\u00e9 Duranceau et Dr Pasquale Ferraro, les activit\u00e9s de la Fondation pour la recherche en chirurgie thoracique de Montr\u00e9al se d\u00e9clinent en trois volets. Premi\u00e8rement, elle aide les personnes atteintes de maladies pulmonaires ou de maladies \u0153sophagiennes en leur prodiguant des soins sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s de haute qualit\u00e9, que ce soit en oncologie thoracique ou en transplantation pulmonaire. Deuxi\u00e8mement, l\u2019organisme amasse des fonds pour la recherche qui ont permis la mise en place de trois chaires universitaires dans le but de soutenir la recherche en transplantation pulmonaire, en oncologie thoracique et en maladies \u0153sophagiennes. Depuis sa cr\u00e9ation, plus de 9 millions de dollars auront \u00e9t\u00e9 investis dans ces chaires de recherche \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al.
